The one job I've always wanted is to work at Borders. Because of my great interest in books, It's the perfect job for me. However, my biggest issue with getting there has been transportation. It's further away than my current job, so I would either take my car or find out the bus schedule.

A Day at the Detour
A DAY AT THE DETOUR BY ZAC CLEYS
[TOM and STEVE are in the back of the car with STEVE’S dad behind the wheel. As they pull into the hotel driveway, in Bloomington, the hotel itself isn’t the first thing that amazes TOM, but the people who walk in and out of it. They had arrived at the Anime convention.]
TOM
Oh my god. Look at all those cosplayers.
[Fans in character costumes]
STEVE
See? What’d I tell you?
TOM
Look over there.
[points to a small group of people]
Some of them are walking down to the mall of America.
STEVE
Really?
TOM
Yeah.
[As STEVE’S dad helps them unload, they discuss how their agenda is going to work]
TOM
So, where do we start?
STEVE
First, we have to find a room so we can start unpacking our stuff. Then, we can do some looking around from there.
TOM
Okay.
[As they enter the hotel, TOM’S mind is blown away even more when he sees more people in costumes walking around. Knowing this, he can’t wait to get some pictures of them with the camera he brought along.]
TOM
Man, I can’t believe how many cosplayers are here. I’m so glad I brought my camera with me. Did you bring one too STEVE?
STEVE
As a matter of fact I did. It’s right here.
[pulls out a small digital camera from his backpack.]
TOM
Wow, I didn’t know you had a digital camera.
STEVE
Here, check it out.
[he hands the camera to TOM and shows him how it works.]
TOM
Nice.
[After STEVE’S dad signs them in they take the keys to their room and start to get organized. Then after the three of them hit the cafĂ©, TOM remembers something important he had to do for his brother. So him and STEVE head down to a lower level of the hotel to line up with some other people getting autographs from famous voice actors because one of them is his brother’s favorite.]
TOM
Oh man, I can’t wait to see the look on my brother’s face.
STEVE
That’s a real nice thing you’re doing Tom.
TOM
Well, you know me.
[After that’s done, TOM heads back to the room to put away his brother’s book and then meets STEVE back at the store. TOM couldn’t wait to go in there, knowing about all the stuff that he
was about to see.]
TOM
Do you already know what you’re going to buy STEVE?
STEVE
I think I’ll have a look around first and see what they’ve got.
TOM
Me too. Maybe they’ll have some of the stuff I’m looking for.
STEVE
You never know.
[They enter the store and TOM’S jaw is on the floor when he sees all of the mind blowing varieties of things they have. Books, music, dvds, etc. How will he ever decide?]
TOM
Whoa, holy cow. I had no idea there would be so much stuff in here!
STEVE
So what do you think? Is it everything you thought it’d be?
TOM
Oh, you bet it is.
[They decide to split up and see what they can find. As TOM looks around, the more things he finds, the more trouble he has deciding what to get.]
TOM
[thinking Alright now, which one do I want more.]
Do I want the movie? Or do I want the keychain?
[Looks at the last spot he visited]
I couldn’t even decide what I wanted over there. It's so hard to make a decision. I keep going back and forth, thinking which do I want more.
[While TOM is busy deciding, he quickly realizes that he wanted to grab some souvenirs for both his brothers. So he takes another look around at some places he may have missed and comes across two good things they might like. He finally makes the choice of buying the keychain over the movie and meets back up with STEVE shortly after.]
STEVE
Well, how’d it go?
TOM
Oh, it went great but let me tell you. I had a hard time choosing the stuff I wanted.
STEVE
You and me both. By the way, did they have some of the things you were looking for?
TOM
I did manage to find a few things.
[shows what’s in his bag]
STEVE
Cool.
[And with that done, they head back to their room to look through their stuff.]
